More festivals this month: Hong Kong, Oslo, Madrid, and Zurich

OPEN HOUSE HONG KONG
HONG KONG

We are delighted to announce that Open House Hong Kong will host its inaugural festival this September with over 50 iconic sites, including The Henderson, WWF Peter Scott Visitor Centre, and historic landmarks like the Blue House and CLP Clock Tower. Industrial gems like Moonzen Brewery and unique recreational spaces will also be featured. There will be guided tours and expert-led discussions on design, history, and sustainability.

OPEN HOUSE OSLO
OSLO, NORWAY
21-22 SEPTEMBER

As the city of Oslo marks its 400th anniversary and Open House Oslo its 10th, this year’s programme is rich and diverse, highlighting the city's history, particularly focusing on Kvadraturen, the area established in 1624 after a devastating fire. Visitors can explore over guided walks and participate in fun activities for all ages, such as the Oslo Quiz. The programme also spotlights compact living solutions, urban farming, innovative eco-friendly construction projects, and two iconic buildings by renowned Norwegian architect Sverre Fehn.

OPEN HOUSE MADRID
MADRID, SPAIN

The 10th edition of Open House Madrid offers an exceptional programme of over 130 activities.

Highlights include the Galería de las Colecciones Reales and the Ilustre Colegio Oficial de Médicos, along with exclusive tours of unique spaces across the city. Alcalá de Henares, this year’s guest city, will offer access to historic sites such as the 17th-century Corral de Comedias and a Civil War air-raid shelter.

OPEN HOUSE ZÜRICH
ZURICH, SWITZERLAND
28-29 SEPTEMBER

Open House Zürich is back for its 9th edition, offering access to over 120 buildings and outdoor spaces. This year, the spotlight is on Winterthur, a city celebrated for blending its rich industrial past with modern architectural innovation. Highlights include the transformed Sulzerareal, an industrial site turned vibrant urban space, or Haus Krokodil, known for its sustainable living concept. Participants can also explore innovative projects such as the Haus Adeline Favre, which delves deeper into climate-conscious construction, as part of the PLUS+ programme, a warm-up to the festival weekend.
