SPOTLIGHT
KANNANGARA HOUSE
COLOMBO, SRI LANKA
In May, Open House Colombo hosted a special 'Spotlight' open house of the iconic Kannangara House. Designed by Geoffrey Bawa between 1959-61 and recently restored by architect Amila de Mel, the house is the former home and office of lawyer Aelian Kannangara. It is to be rented to an embassy for two years, and Open House Colombo was given the opportunity to open it to the public for a final peek before the transition. More than 90 visitors had the chance to explore the home.
On July 23, Open House Colombo returns with a special edition on gardens and greenspaces. Stay tuned!
