1-31 OCTOBER

In 2021, Open House Chicago is a month-long celebration of the city’s architecture, history, and culture. In addition to in-person visits at more than 100 sites not usually open to the public on October 16 and 17, OHC’s app offers 29 self-guided tours that allow users to explore the city on the ground or remotely throughout the month of October. Experiences include the Obamas’ life in Hyde Park, Helmut Jahn’s legacy in the Loop, and a vibrant collection of Mexican murals of Pilsen. Want to dive in even deeper? Eight online programs are also available this month, including a showcase by local architects of new projects completed during the pandemic (19/10), and a panel about projects that make significant contributions to the social, visual and cultural life of neighborhoods (20/10).
