Upcoming Open House Festivals: 4-19 September

It's easier than ever to join an Open House festival. The majority of Open House festivals offer digital programmes including behind-the-scenes virtual tours, films about iconic buildings, immersive podcasts, virtual conversations with architects, and more.

OPEN HOUSE LONDON
4-12 SEPTEMBER

Open House London, a nine-day celebration of London’s architecture and urban landscapes, is a hybrid event focused on the city's recovery. Festival highlights include tours of 10 Downing Street, brutalist landmark Trellick Tower, a street of self-build timber houses, a homeless shelter, and a Maggie’s Centre in the City. Open House London also includes more than 70 virtual experiences, including a talk about Belle Vue, a new holistic retirement community whose design physically and emotionally supports its residents.

OPEN HOUSE WIEN
11-12 SEPTEMBER

Open House Wien opens more than 50 buildings that contribute to a resilient city, make Vienna climate-fit, support social ways of living together, and offer solutions for more sustainability. In addition to the in-person festival for locals, Open House Wien will also show short films that viewers can enjoy around the globe. Featured projects include Sonnwendviertel, the first district built using an inclusive, cooperative design process and innovative housing for Vienna’s growing population.

ODPRTE HIŠE SLOVENIJE
17-19 SEPTEMBER

“Architecture Builds Community” is the slogan of the 2021 edition of the next Open House festival in Slovenia, whose programme explores public buildings and open spaces. Festival experiences include urban walks of the modernist architecture of coastal town Koper, Miner’s Houses and heritage buildings in Idrija, and an architecture journey through time in Ljubljana. Odprte hiše Slovenije will also premiere three short films of local projects from the architect’s view.

OPEN HOUSE TORINO
18-19 SEPTEMBER

Launched in 2017, Open House Torino opens the doors to spaces not usually open to the public and share the Italian city’s rich architectural heritage including baroque, modern, and contemporary buildings, as well as iconic parks and gardens.
