Upcoming: Open House weekends in Madrid, Colombo and Oslo

Open House Madrid offers free access to more than 100 buildings in the Spanish capital. The 2022 edition pays homage to architects José Antonio Corrales and Ramón Vázquez Molezún, one of the most prolific duos of the second half of the 20th century in Spain. Avant-garde, rigorous and expressive, notable works include the Spanish pavilion at the 1958 Brussels World’s Fair (now at Feria del Campo); Casa Huarte; El Colegio de Salesianos in Herrera de Pisuerga; la Residencia de Miraflores; and the Bankunión building.

OPEN HOUSE COLOMBO
COLOMBO, SRI LANKA

The first edition of Open House Colombo—the first Open House festival in South Asia—explores the work of five architectural practices responsible for shaping the contemporary architectural language of Sri Lanka. Over the course of two Saturdays, the programme buildings by Justin Samarasekera, Minnette de Silva, Geoffrey Bawa, Panini Tennekoon and Valentine Gunasekara to understand the distinctive responses of these contemporaries in architecture, working in a shared context and responding to the specificities of Sri Lanka at the time.

OPEN HOUSE OSLO
OSLO, NORWAY
24-25 SEPTEMBER

The 2022 edition of Open House Oslo opens more than 100 homes, gardens, and more in collaboration with architects, developers, museums, and organizations. Highlights include brand new private homes, townhouses, a renewed fire station, a new university campus, a villa from the 18th century in dragon style, a functionalist sea bath, several of the city's main farms, Northern Europe's largest roof garden, and office buildings renovated with highest BREEM standards. Special emphasis is on inner-city transformation and housing area master planning development.
